Micrographia

An interactive web work for artist Shin Sangah’s research project «Mascot Micrographia», which collects the visual signs of contemporary mascots and reads them as mutant microorganisms. The images gather and scatter by likeness and hybridity, so the fictional mascot ecosystem re-forms differently with every visit.

작가 신상아의 리서치 프로젝트 «마스코트 마이크로그라피아»를 위한 인터랙티브 웹 작업입니다. 동시대 마스코트에서 모은 시각 기호를 돌연변이 미생물처럼 다룹니다. 이미지들이 닮음과 혼종성에 따라 모였다 흩어지며, 가상의 마스코트 생태계가 방문할 때마다 다르게 짜입니다.

Shown on a wall-mounted touchscreen in the exhibition and in the browser, it treats discovery and serendipity as the interface: no two sessions arrange the archive the same way.

전시장에서는 벽에 설치한 터치스크린으로, 밖에서는 브라우저로 선보였습니다. 발견과 우연을 인터페이스로 삼아, 아카이브가 같은 모습으로 배열되는 세션은 하나도 없습니다.
